In my early years of youth, my interests were to play the drums or to be involved in sports. At 14 years old the drums passed and I was solely into football, basketball, swimming and baseball, which I was the captain of each sport all the way through high school. In 1979 I graduated with honors as Vice President of the senior class from E. A. Johnson High School in Mt. Morris, MI. I had some offers to go to college to play football, but I also had a great offer to start a new job as a draftsman for a Sheet Metal contractor in Flint, MI. I started there 3 days after I graduated, because I was ready to start supporting and making something of myself. I learned how to design commercial metal siding, decking and structural steel. Most of our work was with Chevrolet, Buick and Oldsmobile plants.

In my mid-career I became more involved with building projects from remodeling, additions and total house. I learned both conventional homes and log-style homes. I designed, estimated, built, managed and sold many residential and commercial projects. I became a licensed residential builder in 1992 to date. After 911 the building market suffered greatly. I then became an Outside salesman for a couple of large retail store chains. I worked with contractors on sales, estimating, training, etc. I became a store manager with Carter Lumber in St. Johns, MI, which I was able to bring from a negative debt store to a larger profitable store within 9 months. Due to re-structuring I became a Pro Account Sales Associate for The Home Depot. I handled commercial and residential building accounts. I also did computer training for various building software programs. But my heart was to be in management. I was offered to work for a large restoration contractor as a project manager. And, with the blessings of my managers, the supported my decision and cheered me on.

For many years, I spent learning all about insurance-related demolition, mitigation and restoration from the contractor side of claims for residential and commercial clients. I learned how to handle all losses due to water, wind, fire, hail, etc. I not only managed the projects, I also was strongly involved in the "hands-on" aspect of all these losses. I learned the entire science of mitigation and restoration. I also became very proficient with the Xactimate28 software which most of the insurance companies use throughout the world.

About 6 years ago, I began working with the largest independent insurance adjustment company in Michigan. While working with various adjusters and insurance carriers I began to become very efficient in handling damage claims for commercial and residential losses throughout all of Michigan, plus adjacent states. Within the next 5 years the company had changed owners and became part of the largest independent adjustment company in the United States, VeriClaim. I became recognized in the "Top 10" Xactimate estimators in the nation-wide company. Less than a year ago the company re-structured and dissolved our entire estimating department, which I then started my own consulting company in the fall of last year. I continued to do the same type of work until I met Ron at Timbercrest Home Improvements (THI after) the first of the year 2017.

I then took a look online for THI website, which was extremely an eye-opener for me. I also began to talk to my insurance and contractor contacts to get their take on THI. All of the feed-back I was receiving from my trusted colleagues was very positive. I also checked out their projects they had completed. They were top-notch quality products and craftsmanship. I also found out THI has been Grand Blanc's top "Roofing contractor" in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 by the "Grand Blanc View." I then sat down with Ron Eaton, General Manager of Timbercrest Home Improvements which I became very impressed with the entire organization of the company. The entire crews and staff are trained and certified in roofing and siding. And they have been with THI for as long as it started in 2003.

I made my decision to become part of this winning team shortly thereafter. In my past, I have seen many damages to homes and buildings that were insurance-related. I have seen many claims handled improperly from both sides as a contractor and adjusting. When most homeowners have damages to their prized-possessions, mainly their homes, they don't know where to turn. At THI we are "Insurance Specialists." We're not just roofing and siding contractors (no offense to those that are), we are Insurance Specialists. This makes THI to be the most qualified to handle your claims with your insurance companies so you get the right amounts to cover your damages. We also are able to handle your claims more quickly with your insurance adjusters in reaching agreements, using Xactimate estimating, which allows your home to get back to normal after a devastating occurrence. With my background I am proud to be part of this elite team of professionals. I look forward to serving you.
